Green Schools Newsletters

Green Schools News is published biannually and is sent to 5,000 teachers throughout Maine.  It highlights energy related school activities, websites and curricula.  Please click on the links below to read current and past issues.  You can also send us an email and we will gladly add you to our mailing list.  Please note: You must have Acrobat Reader to view the newsletter.  You can download Acrobat Reader for free here .

    The teacher insert focuses on an activity that simulates one way scientists study the climate: "tree cookies." (1.5 Mb)

    The Climate Time Machine takes students back through time as they study how climate has changed 20,000 years to the present simulating an actual scientific study! (1.1 Mb)
  • Winter 2004
    Vending Machines use a ton of energy, many being on 24/7.  There is a device called a Vending Miser that when attached can cut down the energy use by 50 percent.  This issue features an activity that involves real data and an opportunity to save your school money! (1.2 Mb)
